The Kaiser of the Atlantis
In 1943, in a Nazi concentration camp, a group of musicians wrote an opera warning us about tyrants dragging us into war. Eighty years later, on the stage of a major European coliseum, their message resonates louder than ever. Will we heed the warning this time?

The Kaiser of Atlantis: The incredible journey of an opera written from horror.
★★★★Helena Brillembourg, La Nación
'The Kaiser of Atlantis' is a documentary about resistance.

The director also includes other testimonies, archival footage, and even animated sequences, all to give voice to Viktor Ullman and Peter Kien, who wrote this brave (and previously unknown) testimony of Nazi resistance. Both risked their lives so that we could understand the danger posed by a war criminal not being stopped in time, and now we have the opportunity to hear their voices.

Sebastián Alfie, who made his debut a few years ago in the documentary field with 'Gabor,' about the collaboration between a blind cinematographer and a filmmaker, returns to the same terrain with 'The Kaiser of Atlantis,' directing his gaze at a historical figure, Viktor Ullmann, the composer responsible for the opera that gives the film its title (known as 'Der Kaiser von Atlantis'), an allegory about the madness and death prevailing during the Third Reich.
